  49. Q.      Tomb Raider does not Auto Select my Sound Card. What do I do ?
  50.  
  51. A.      There are some sound cards and system specs which make it
  52.         impossible for us to detect your sound card. In these cases you will
  53.         have to manually select your card. Select the option to
  54.         "Manually Select Card". If you are not sure what settings you should
  55.         use for the DMA and IRQ settings, there are a number of ways to find
  56.         out:
  57.    i.   From the DOS prompt, type SET. If your sound card is Sound Blaster
  58.         compatible there should be a system variable called BLASTER.
  59.         This will show your settings.
  60.    ii.  If you cannot find this and you have Windows '95 then from the
  61.         Start Button select "Settings", then "Control Panel", then select
  62.         the "System" icon. Select the "Device Manager" tab and double click
  63.         on the word "Computer" [the top item on the list]. From here
  64.         you can see what your DMA and IRQ settings are for your sound card.
  65.         Do not change any settings. Select CANCEL from the various windows
  66.         you have opened and close the Control Panel.
  67.    iii  If neither of these methods are suitable, there should be a program
  68.         supplied with your Sound Card which allows you to see what your
  69.         settings are.

  72. Q.      My menu screens and SVGA version of the game corrupted, why ?

  74. A.      If you find that the SVGA graphics resolution of the game, together
  75.         with some of the menus are incorrectly displayed this is probably due
  76.         to a VESA problem. **Tomb Raider requires a VESA compliant graphics
  77.         card in order to function correctly**.

  80. Q.      I can't define all the keys on my GamePads and/or Joysticks. Why not ?

  82. A.      Tomb Raider was originally designed to be played with a keyboard on the
  83.         PC. With the increase in popularity of GamePads and Joysticks on the PC
  84.         we have included support for many of these. Please refer to the manual
  85.         for further details. Over the coming weeks, we will be evaluating a
  86.         range of new GamePads and Joysticks and if the demand is there, we'll
  87.         release a small patch to accomodate them. Keep an eye out on the
  88.         WWW.TOMBRAIDER.COM web site.

  91. Q.      I set up a User Keys definition, and now I want to use the default
  92.         keys, some of the default keys don't seem to work. Why?

  94. A.      There are two keyboard layout screens, the Default Keys and the User
  95.         Keys. If a key is defined as two different things, ie CTRL=Action on
  96.         the Default setup and as Roll on the User set up the User set up will
  97.         take priority.
  98.         To restore to the default options, you may either define the User Keys
  99.         to be those of the Default Keys, or select keys for the User Keys setup
  100.         that are not defined in the Default Keys setup.

  103. Q.      Can I stop the Windows '95 Hot Keys and/or the Screen Saver from working?
  104.  
  105. A.      Yes. Right Click on the file name TOMB.EXE. Select Properties. Click on
  106.         the tab called "Misc". Clear the checks in the Allow screen saver box
  107.         and in the Windows shortcut keys area. Please note: This is performed
  108.         automatically in the full version of the game.

  110. Note:   If the frame rate seems too slow, you can switch from high resolution to
  111.         low resolution (F1), decrease the screen size (F2), or lower the detail
  112.         level (pause menu).
